Mission: Samaritan's Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan's Purse has helped meet needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing Gods love through His son, Jesus Christ. The organization serves the church worldwide to promote the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Programs: OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD/THE GREATEST JOURNEY The world's largest Christmas project of its kind, Operation Christmas Child uses gift-filled shoeboxes to demonstrate God's love in a tangible way to children in need around the world. Since 1993, Operation Christmas Child has collected and delivered more than 146 million shoebox gifts to children in more than 160 countries and territories. Each year, the project mobilizes over 150,000 volunteers in the United States. Since 2010, more than 11 million children who have received a shoebox gift have participated in The Greatest Journey—a 12-lesson discipleship program. Children learn from trained, local volunteers what it means to follow Jesus and share their faith with friends and family. INTERNATIONAL CRISIS RESPONSE Samaritan's Purse specializes in meeting critical needs for victims of war, disaster, and famine in the world's most troubled regions, often working through local churches and ministry partners. Recent efforts include responding to refugees fleeing war-ravaged Mosul, Iraq, by providing food, shelter and other supplies, and operating an emergency field hospital to treat patients injured by gunfire, mines, and other explosives. Samaritan's Purse also distributed emergency supplies to earthquake victims in Nepal and Ecuador, and continues to help people in Liberia recover from the Ebola outbreak. U.S. DISASTER RELIEF Since 1998, when Samaritan's Purse equipped its first Disaster Relief Unit, staff and volunteers have helped more than 34,000 families impacted by U.S. natural disasters—hurricanes, tornadoes, wildfires, floods, and ice storms—by quickly providing emergency supplies and cleaning, repairing, and rebuilding homes. WORLD MEDICAL MISSION Each year, the medical arm of Samaritan's Purse places hundreds of doctors, dentists, and other medical professionals in voluntary, short-term service with hospitals and clinics in the world's least-developed countries. World Medical Mission also provides hospitals overseas with critical medical equipment and supplies. CHILDREN'S HEART PROJECT Children's Heart Project arranges life-saving operations for hundreds of children who live in countries where the required medical expertise and equipment are not available. Since 1997, Children's Heart Project has arranged cardiac operations for more than 1,200 children. OPERATION HEAL OUR PATRIOTS Operation Heal Our Patriots gives wounded veterans and their spouses the opportunity for spiritual refreshment, physical renewal, and marriage enrichment. Couples participate in Biblically-based seminars that help strengthen their relationships with God and others, while enjoy the beauty of God's creation with outdoor activities at our Alaskan wilderness lodge. We continue to support these men and women after their initial stay, keeping their spiritual needs and marriages a priority. Since 2012, 843 couples have participated in the program with 398 rededicating their marriages to the Lord and 342 coming to faith in Jesus Christ.

It happens that in life, when we have seen the love ones dying too soon, it takes time to overcome the pain. It has happened to almost everybody and only time heals.
It was indeed difficult for me to accept that my 7 year old son Jephté also called Jeff, died from malaria while waiting for medical assistance in a queue at the public hospital. Jeff looked better in the morning, I thought he would have a quick test and he would be given some anti malaria tablets and he will be ok, so the mother should take him to the hospital, I will run to my office to my supervisor and asked for a permission and meet them at the hospital. When I met the company supervisor he told me to program " those 2 computers" and I would be free to go to the hospital for my son. After just an hour an half, there was a messenger who was at the gate of the company, he called the reception who put him through to my phone extension, the sad message is Jeff my son passed away. I just stood up and told my supervisor, my son just passed away. Within 5 minutes sweat as if I was beaten by the rains! I rushed to the cab station and hired the first taxi as " express" unbelievable! Jeff passed way and there was no room in the mortuary to keep his body there and his body was taken home to my bungalow waiting for burial! Jeff was buried in my back yard. It was hard to have loose my dad David a former school teacher, and six months later I lost my son. My pain and sorrow got worse the next day after from 4: am remembering both my dad and my son " leaving me here" when I shed tears for two hours at Jeff's tomb. Later on I prayed, and told God when you help me, I will help many of those who are in as the same situation as Jeff and David my dad. A month later I was hired as paid volunteer to work in East Timor, I began to save some money, later on I bought the land. God bless me again to have a better contract and took me to Lebanon then to Israel through official training to visit Jesus empty tomb, and birth place Bethlehem. I saved my pay and built a medical center called Kingston-diaspora that can be seen on www.kingstoncaraid.com and facebook.kingston.diaspora . God has been faithful., with 4 ambulances and 1 mobile clinic, our team was able to rescue, and provide medical assistance in emergency before during and after the devastating armed conflict in Central African Republic. The only obstacle was when the majority of muslim rebels ceased our ambulances and vandalized then their adversary called " anti balaka looted the building. At the moment one ambulance is completely writte off, others have clutch and their tires removed. God is faithful, we need your prayers from around the world and also to help us fix and put our ambulances and mobile clinic back on the roads. We have had assistance of Vitamin angels to give vitamins A and deworming tables to malnourished children, however we are unable to provide ambulance assistance in emergency cases and children, elderly people death rates has increased. Operation Samaritans purse is a wonderful program. Our family is feeling two shoeboxes to be sent to needy children. This is a well managed charity where 88% of the funds go directly to the recipients. I would rate it five stars except the CEO Franklin Graham receives a salary of $443,000 a year. I don't know how that guy sleeps at night.

Other ministries should take their cues from Samaritan's Purse! There are so very many reasons to praise this organization! Perhaps the most praise-worthy thing that they do is that they live out the Gospel in a very concrete way!

Operation Christmas Child is one of my favorite charities! I have great joy all year long, collecting items to fill shoe boxes, knowing that these gifts will bring joy to child, and in particular, that the gift will be accompanied by an invitation to grow closer to Christ!

Inspiring Greatness.

We are all born with special gifts, and it is my belief that if everyone tapped into their talents, and used them to help each other, there would be peace and harmony in our world.

Just like nature created animals, each with different yet important roles, I believe that humans were created with different roles to fill, too. But, as greed for money and power mixes with fears it interferes with universal law. We get out of balance--and disaster strikes.

That's why I am inspired to give--money and time--to help restore balance. We must spread awareness of important causes and to inspire others to speak up.

One of my special talents, which I believe many other people possess, too, is my voice. I believe I was put here to help those that cannot speak through written and verbal words. So, right now, part of my mission is to spread awareness of injustices around the world, to women, children, men, and the refugees fleeing Syria. I am doing this through my own social channels, by sharing stories and promoting orgs that are helping refugees, like Samaritan's Purse, and through my pro bono work with TheToolbox.org and Humanise (founded by iconic musician and humanitarian Peter Gabriel).

If you think there's nothing you can do you are wrong. Now, more than ever, those of us that can speak up for those without a voice must find the courage do so. If you don't have money to give don't worry about that. You can still share stories on social media and talk to friends to spread awareness.

Calming fears, educating my peers, supporting courageous acts and inspiring greatness is what drives me to give.

I have been donating to Samaritans Purse for years. I like the diversity in the work they do. I like the Christian emphasis of this non profit. I like the transparency they have before the ECFA, with very high percentages of the money they receive going directly to recipients.

I find it funny that people would come on here and talk about contraception or any other contraversial issues. Samaritan's Purse goes into areas where there is total devistation along with ongoing dire projects. Sometimes before the Red Cross or anyone else is there. If people criticizing them are more concerned with their politics over the most basic needs people desperately need, then I would say they have thier priorities severely out of line.

I have been a small donor to Samaritan's Purse for several years. My payments are set up on a monthly automatic draft. I also participate in their Children's Christmas packages (Operation Christmas Child). If you use one of their labels you can track your box and see what country it went to, which I enjoyed. Their disaster relief is wonderful and we have had them in our state several times. The volunteers have helped clean up neighborhoods struck by tornadoes and prayed with many of the victims. They are a Christian organization and therefore will promote Christianity in everything they do.

This is a true charity! I could never fully say enough about what they have done to help anyone who needs help even if it was dangerous or life threatening! It is an organization like this that strengthenshe the belief in God and humanity!

We are a team of college students that have been assigned the task of evaluating a charity for an international development. Through our research of Samaritan's Purse we have found them to be a very large international development organization. They work primarily in the developing world, and do very little aid work in the United States. There is substantial evidence that their projects have impacted the lives of people in the developing world. For example, their water projects have helped to provide clean drinking water for thousands of people in Africa. Another impressive aspect of Samaritan's Purse is the efficiency in which they spend donation money. They have very little administrative overhead, which allows close to 90℅ of donation money goes directly to funding development projects.

There are also some concerns that surround Samaritan's Purse, their leader , Franklin Graham, is a very conservative Christian. He has made comments about homosexuals and people of Islam that some people may find offensive. There is some evidence that this extremism has certain effects on their projects. For example, they refuse to administer birth control to men or women because it does not conform to their beliefs. This is a concern because it shows that they are unable to separate their religious beliefs and their work in devbeloping countries. This charity may not be for everyone, if you find your beliefs aligned with the views of Franklin Graham this may be the perfect charity for you, but we would advise caution as this charity seems to have a fairly extreme religious and political bend.

Samaritan's Purse is ethical all the way, and they've been incredibly responsive to me every time I've had a query about their livestock-related projects. My passion is ethical treatment of animals, and they've given me detailed descriptions of the training they give the recipients of their livestock animals as far as humane treatment, sound husbandry principles, and their Biblical philosophy regarding humans' responsibility to care properly for animals. One of my greatest joys every Christmas is choosing charity gifts from the Samaritan's Purse catalog. I recommend them with no hesitation to any donors considering making a contribution of any size.

I think Samaritan's Purse is one of the best organizations I have ever given to. I like their work, and
I know it isn't easy for them to go to some parts of the world because of the danger. But they do,
anyway. Franklin Graham stands up for the truth no matter what the world says. I admire that. Sue White

Unfortunately, two Samaritan's Purse volunteer medical staff in Africa contracted Ebola and are now at risk of death. Let's watch Samaritan's Purse CAREFULLY and see if they use this unfortunate happenstance in their fund raising appeals. Rev. Franklin Graham should be on his knees praying for their survival and not engaging in right wing political activities.

I LOVE Operation Christmas Child. Our family LOVES Operation Christmas Child. Every year, we put together shoe boxes for children around the world, and take so much joy in sharing what we have with others! We teach our children using this outreach about those around the world who are less fortunate, and help them to have hearts that love to give. They fill out their own boxes and love it! This year we are having a OCC Packing Party with a kit from Samaritan's Purse, and we couldn't be more excited! Praise God for the opportunity to love on kids throughout the world!!!!

Our church is involved with Operation Christmas Child, which is how I became acquainted with Samaritan's Purse. I admire the work they do around the world through this program. In November, 2012 I had the amazing opportunity to travel to Haiti and work with a group of US volunteers at the Greta Home and Academy in Leogane, Haiti. I was so impressed with the SP leadership I met in Haiti, and just the overall experience I had. Our accomodations were by no means luxurious, but we were well taken care of and SP took our safety seriously. The Greta home, which is now operating, is a beacon of light that shines in a spiritually dark and corrupted country, yet beautiful and full of potential. God is doing great things through SP there. I cant think of another organization that I would rather support.

I am so thankful for this organization. It allows a small, lower income family to make a dfference in a child's life...at Christmas no less! The impact they are making with their shoe boxes truly shows love the way The Lord intended. All things biblical are now seen as politcal...it is the season of life we are in. Christ's message is THE SAME as it always has been...as is Samaritan's Purse message. It's the political agenda that is crossing their paths. Biblical truth and charitable transparency is what SP stands for, and I am thankful for them.

I know that this isn't a blog or anything. But in defense of Mr. Graham and Samraitans Purse, I do not believe he has a political agenda, but a Biblical Agenda. If you read the Scriptures, the public policies he defended are those that have clearly been spoken by the Creator. Truth is Truth. I have made small donations and my family has made very significant donations to Samaritan's purse. My support has ceased, and I'm hoping to persuade my families business to stop giving them many thousands each year. I'm very hesitant to take adverse action against them, but do so for the following reasons. 1. Franklin Graham takes a large salary 2. He is deeply engaged in using his organization in partisan politics, and 3. while some of their work is very good, some has not been very good, such as their internal bickering and finally abruptly pulling out of their commitment for the war child project in Northern Uganda, which left the other NGO's scrambling to provide the food for these kids that Samaratin's Purse had provided. That was irresponsible and unconscionable. If you're going to make a commitment to these kids who have seen and done things that we can't even imagine, you must stand by that commitment. Was it their internal fighting that was legendary, or was it lack of funds while they find it worthwhile to make large contributions to anti-gay marriage measures? Either way, it's not Christian, and it's not good. Knowing that they funneled contributions through the Billy Graham Evangelical Association when most of the money came from Samaritan's Purse is not helpful. Nor was his repeated Obama bashing, which apparently was not God's will as he was re-elected anyway, and the Bible is clear that God puts the leaders in office. So he opposes God. Period. is not following in his father's footsteps but is collecting a very large salary from Samaritan's purse and was also collecting a large salary from the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. In 2008 his total salary was 1.2 million. A controversy arose, and he's since stopped his BGEA salary, but still collects over 400,000 from Samaritan's Purse.

I am currently volunteering with this organization to help with hurricane disaster relief in nj. They are doing amazing work. I am Christian but not a church goer and have to admit I am always cautious of any large group in power whether political or religious. That being said, the amount of work this group gets done is amazing. They are truly making a huge difference in peoples lives every day. I have volunteered with other organizations that are not as organized and not as productive. Samaritan purse is not that way. They send out teams of volunteers who simply act. They do whatever is needed... no questions asked. They rip up carpet, pack up a house, tear up carpet, clean out moldy furniture, offer a listening ear, seriously anything needed. Thus far I have been very impressed. I have read the leader makes a huge salary which disagree with however, that aside they are great. My recommendation would be to volunteer with them. If you are concerned about donating money, don't. Volunteers are an organizations greatest asset . Honestly, any big organization needs some money for administration costs. It takes money to mobilize volunteers and get work done. I can honestly say though that the team of 20 volunteers I worked with yesterday did 10,000$ worth of work in 6 hours. That's huge.

A year ago I made a operation Christmas child box and enjoyed the process. However now I am completely disappointed with Samaritan's purse because I was sent an email of a political nature which really turned me off. I've noticed that the organization has an extreme right wing point of view. From here on out I will only donate to groups in which their only point of view is helping people. I think it is very unchristian to have such a strong political stance that undermines outreach. If the CEO was less outspoken I might still be donating to samaritan's purse. I will be continuing to donate to Lutheran world relief an excellent relief organization.

I've been a regular donor to SP for a few years, but Franklin Graham's recent political commentary has me greatly concerned, especially where it pertains to same-sex marriage. I didn't realize that SP's mission includes promoting their political agenda, and I refuse to have my contributions used to support bigotry. As a result, I've become disillusioned with SP and have not donated since May. I'm still prayerfully considering whether I should resume, but at this point I have no confidence that my contributions will not be supporting such un-Christ-like behavior.

This is the second year we have put together christmas packages for children (3 - one from each of my children). It is a nice experience for them. I am very saddened to see a CEO of a non-profit making $400,000 plus. It is pure greed. I think with conscience NO CEO's of non profits should take more then $200,000 for their work. Shame on Mr. Graham and the board for allowing this.

I was wounded by an IED in Afghanistan in 2010. Afterwards there are many obstacles, both physically and mentally that must be overcome in order to return to life before the injury. My wife and I were selected to participate in Operation Heal Our Patriots (A project of Samaritans Purse), where we could focus on reconnecting as a couple. This was the first time in the two years following the incident that we were able to focus on us, without the kids. What else can i say except, "WOW...WORLD CLASS!" It was a truly amazing once in a lifetime opportunity and we are a stronger unit now than ever. Every contributing member we met during the event touched our lives and we look forward to reuniting with them in the spring of 2013. This is a top-tier Non-profit and I encourage anyone who can to get involved and support there efforts. Thank You Samaritans Lodge Staff!!!

This organization and its volunteers are exemplary! They fulfill every professional, personal and spiritual standard above the level anyone can measure! Their level of work, kindness, integrity, help, time, efforts, resolutions and follow-up surpass most other groups and organizations in their genre which is public service. There are perhaps four others that equal them in our country, the USA. That's a great rating! I have excellent, rigorous professional standards for an organization to meet a qualified standard in its practice and levels of care and operation. This one, Samaritan's Purse, exceeds every one! I am deeply grateful professionally and personally for their existence and everything they do in the USA and Internationally. Yes, the BBB has unfortunately not corrected their evaluative information which is indeed unfortunately inaccurate and misleading.

BBB is a joke! They falsely claim to be lacking information that is clearly spelled out in Samaritan Purse's Annual Financial Disclosure. After posting an erroneous review on Samaritan's Purse, BBB asked me for money.

I feel like everyone is looking at this from the wrong perspective. 1st) The approach to CEO pay for a large non-profit CANNOT be approached much differently from CEO pay for a large corporation. Why? While there are surely a multitude of positions within a charitable organization that can pay based on the size of an employee's heart to a greater extent than for the size of an employee's skill, the CEO is not one of them. There are two basic reasons. Firstly, an organization of Samaritan Purse's magnitude and undoubted organizational complexity (non-profit, NGO, corporation, or otherwise) MUST attract an individual who is an excellent steward of the organization's assets. This means finding someone with a ton of a talent, decades of experience, and a rare skill set that involves managing - in this case - millions and millions of dollars in revenue and assets. That doesn't come cheap. In order to compete with high-paying firms that need great CEOs to do the exact same thing, non-profits have no choice but to compete on pay. Additionally, after some of the issues with big non-profits like Goodwill, it is imperative that a CEO be incentivized to uphold the core values of the organization and to, again, be an excellent steward of its assets. Because stock options are not an "option," in the case of a non-profit, salary is the only option. 2nd) What we should really be asking is why a non-profit is retaining 10% of revenue (primarily from donations) instead of spending it on programs; that's over $37 million in this case, folks. That's $37 million that's just sitting around not helping people who could use it. There are a few reasons (beyond idiotic management) that could explain this, but maybe it would better to look into something meaningful like that, instead of worrying about a CEO who is paid at a considerably lower % of expenses that a whole host of CEOs at other non-profits. For example, is this excess the result of forward planning in lieu of the potential Euro-zone meltdown, or the general volatility of the market over the last couple of years (which could ultimately result in a steep decline in donation funds in the matter of, say, only a few months... if that)? Maybe, within the regions in which Samaritan's Purse operates, it has simply exhausted its volunteer base, and has no ability to increase its operations to a point of alignment with the company's current donation potential. If the latter is the case, then they definitely don't need that extra 10% every year, and you might consider being cautious when making the decision to give. 3rd) There was an individual who gave the organization a 5 out of 5, apparently based solely on having participated in downstream, donation-acquisition activities. I would caution that it is the organization's macro financing and ultimately a thorough appraisal of its efforts abroad and/or in the inner cities (depending on the organization) that have a considerably more valuable bearing on its success in terms of making a difference for those who need the assistance.

I tried to add some comments under other reviews, but got an error message, so I will add them here. These comments have to do with the discussion about Franklin Graham's compensation. I have donated to Samaritan's Purse in the past and haven't come to a personal opinion about the CEO salary question, but I wanted to share a couple of thoughts.

In one of the reviews it is said that Franklin Graham probably puts a lot of his own money into Samaritan's Purse. My observation is that if he is putting a lot of his salary back into Samaritan's Purse, that is tax inefficient. He would pay various taxes on his salary - and at a salary over $470K he would not be eligible for many deductions. It would make more sense for him to take a lower salary and leave the money in the charity, so an additional cut doesn't have to go to the government.

For that reason, my guess is that Franklin Graham isn't putting a significant percentage of his salary into Samaritan's Purse; of course, he may be tithing to his church and doing other charitable things with the money.

Another review mentioned that the total compensation number probably includes travel and other business expenses. It would be non-standard accounting if expenses such as travel were included in the CEO's compensation. As a general principal, you want things to be accounted for in the right "bucket" and travel expense should go in the travel expense bucket and salary should go in the salary bucket.

Of course there are cases where teachers buy supplies for their classes because the school district won't, or managers buy lunch for their team and don't submit it for reimbursement because company policy won't allow it (I've done that). Franklin Graham may be doing some similar things, but as CEO he is likely setting the appropriate reimbursement policies and following them. That means unreimbursed expenses are likely a small percentage of his total compensation. To do otherwise would be tax inefficient (for both him and Samaritan's Purse) and I assume Franklin Graham is too smart for that.

I am sad to see some of the comments on here about how much Franklin Graham is making. Is that in gross or net amounts? And do these persons know what he does with the money? I am willing to bet that he is returning much of it back into the organization. I have been a donor through Christmas Child for only two years now and then recently have made some other donations for Sudan, where Franklin has been in the thick of where the people were under attack. How many CEO's of charities do that? I know only one other one for sure and that is Wess Stafford of Compassion International, I believe he would also risk his life for the children. I intend to continue giving to Samaritan's Purse until I see in black in white that Mr. Graham is ripping them off. My income would also look pretty good for other seniors my age, but nobody knows just what I do with that money, and a large percentage of it is given to charity, like sponsoring 8 children with Compassion and 2 with World Vision for one. If people are concerned about the money Franklin Graham is making, why don't the just ask him if that is net or gross and what percentage of it does he actually keep? I know he could tell them it is none of their business but then again they might be surprised.

Waisting resources? Could not have been more disappointed. I would caution anyone considering going on one of their missions trips to consider if their money and time could be better spent somewhere else. Maybe a group that is more accountable? We sent our young adult child on a trip that was meant to have both a medical and dental clinic as our child was preparing for medical school. NEITHER the medical clinic or the dental clinic WERE DONE on the two week trip. We did not find out until we could talk to our child when the group returned. No one told us and no one addressed it after the return. The group were just told they "didn't have a doctor" once they were down there like it was not big deal. They never so much as SAW a clinic. I wonder if this may happen frequently and unsuspecting volunteers miss out of contributing economically and physically in ways they had intended and raised funds for. The volunteers instead spent two weeks doing: some time at an orphanage and mostly distributing christmas boxes and playing with kids (often giving boys the girl boxes because they did not have the right amount of each gender) and they dug trenches by hand for two weeks (side note: daily pouring rain and mud). Prior to the trip, volunteers are encouraged to have their friends donate directly. The problem with this is that people unknowingly keep giving AFTER personal fundraising goals have been reached. I think this is done strategically by them and I believe it to be manipulative. We later found out our raised funds far exceeded the required funding for the medical and dental clinic trip (that WERE NOT EVEN DONE). We PERSONALLY raised more than the allotted funds and we had no say on where the additional hundreds and hundreds of dollars were to go. The youth raised enough for a medical and dental clinic. Neither were done and the money they raised for the clinic was of course not reimbursed or applied to them doing a clinic in the future. There were a few pre-med students on this trip anticipating to pay for incoming university and instead they invested in THIS GREAT DISAPPOINTMENT. There is no way the $3500+ that each person was asked to donate could be used up on only group reduced air fair and sleeping in a continually rained-out tent. Plus, like I said earlier, we raised quite a bit more than the minimum. WOuld not recommend.

This 'samaritan's purse' is surely bulging! Must be the highest paid of ngo execs! DONORS BEWARE!

I an currently a Year Round Volunteer with Samaritan's Purse/Operation Christmas Child. During the past two years as shoe box gift packer, Project Leader for our church, Drop Off Location organizer and now Area Coordinator for Scottsdale, Paradise Valley and Fountain Hills, AZ, I can honestly say I have been behind the scenes of this organization. They not only care about the children who receive the shoe box, but they also care about the volunteers and the people who pack the shoe boxes on "this side of the box". I only have good words and praise to say about this organization and before you make your comments based on the $$ amount paid to Franklin Graham, perhaps you should take a better look as to how they are accounting VERY CLOSELY all the monies and gifts that come in for needy children around the world. Thank you Samaritan's Purse/Operation Christmas Child for blessing me with the opportunity and privilege to work along side a well run organization!!

Before JUMPING TO CONCLUSIONS, you criticizers need to understand that COMPENSATION is not the same as a salary. That $473,440 also includes EXPENSES for travel, food, lodging, etc. This would mean his salary is only a part of $473,440. Considering that a ministry of this size and magnitude probably requires Mr. Graham to do a lot of traveling, I do not find his COMPENSATION to be excessive at all.

I'm adding my comments, not as a donor or a volunteer, but as a person seeing unjust accusations being made on this review page. I am in the process of looking for another charitable organization to commit to, and came across these reviews of Samaritan's Purse. I am impressed with the ratings and intended purpose of this organization, especially compared with other non-profits I've come across. Being a bookkeeper and financial manager, the financials interest me, and I like what I see here. All the hoopla about Franklin Graham's salary are overblown when you put them into perspective. His salary accounts for a mere .15% of what the organization brings in. That's FAR LESS THAN ONE PERCENT! This is by no means out of the question for running a very large and successful ministry. Even with only a tiny fraction of the revenues going to Mr. Graham, the Lord still blesses his efforts and his faithfulness, as He promises in the Scriptures. I have only given four stars simply because I have not yet had any personal experience with this ministry.

I think there are better charities out there. Franklin Graham's salary keeps increasing and is now approaching a half million dollars. Let's not forget he also makes $106,000 from his father's foundation. Samaritan's Purse also has a clear agenda that seems to care more about spreading its beliefs rather than truly helping people.

I have served as a volunteer and a donor for years. They provide humanitarian and relief aid and I understand Mr. Graham's salary is lower than is genreally reported and is consistent with a large nonprofit. I cannot understand how an organization that seeks to promote the Gospel also serves to promote political personalities and, in that affiliation, their specific political agenda. Appearing with anyone with a national political impact and agenda, such as Sarah Palin, is an endorsement of that agenda.

I volunteered in New Orleans after Katrina and also in Haiti for cholera treatment volunteering as an RN and every time I have been nothing but highly impressed with the quality of their work, their supplies, and the effort they make to maintain the safety of the volunteers. There was no fancy accommodation, basic needs were met, but they were all genuine people of God, with a big job to do and they did it with great enthusiasm and without judgement

I have been a donor to Samaritan's Purse for well over a decade. Until today, I would have told anyone who asked me that they were a reputable charity who uses donated funds for much needed programs to aid the poor and needy. Today, I was unfortunate enough to learn the truth. I requested that a charge on my credit card, for a donation I did not make, be refunded to my credit card. With lots of doublespeak and nonsense, zi was refused a refund. It is hard for me to accept that Samaritan's Purse would kick a long-term donor to the curb for $60, but that is exactly what happened. I will never give them another dime, and I intend to warn everyone else I know to stay away from this charity.

I just went to the website above and was able to quickly give a donation to relief in Japan. Look up Samaritan's Purse online or on FB and you will see what they are doing right now. You can choose where you want you money to be sent.

"Today we're airlifting more than 90 tons of emergency supplies to Japan. Plastic sheeting for shelters, blankets, and hygiene supplies will be loaded onto a 747 cargo jet, set to depart for the earthquake-ravaged country just after noon." 3-18-11 SP on FB.

This is a wonderful organization that has compassion for those in need. They know what they are doing and how to do it effectively.

Rev. Franklin Graham is a true man of God and is compassionately serving the poor and needy of the entire world in times of difficulty and disaster thru his love and dedication to Jesus Christ.

He has risked his own life at times such as when he came under sniper fire in Israel. That is remarkable that he does this without fear but by his faith in Jesus Christ. How many Christians would be willing to do the same thing?

I recommend that you read his books to get to know the real Franklin Graham and his strong faith in his Saviour. Then I would ask you to pray to Jesus Christ about supporting this ministry by giving a monthly donation. You will be blessed if you do as I know first-hand since I am a monthly donor and have been for quite a few years. I can only afford to give a small amount since I am disabled and can not work. However, all the small donations such as mine add up to lots of aid for this ministry's calling to serve others and to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost.

How can someone who is hungry, sick or injured accept Jesus Christ if we only pray for God to intervene in their situation. Yes, we pray for them but we also have to feed them and medically treat them and show toward them the Love of Jesus that abides in us. God Bless and please help Franklin Graham's ministry by becoming an active part of it.

Franklin Graham, the CEO of this organization makes $417,000.Per year. this info is on Charity Navigator. This is Billy Graham's Son. I will never give them another $dollar. He Is working for Jesus and should not be getting more than $50,000. Spread the word!!!!! I'm very angry. How about YOU? HE IS VERY, VERY GREADY AND SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM ROBBING THE PURSE!!!!!!
